Some of the residents of Beletweyne have told media outlets that the overflow of Shabelle river has caused fears as the waters has crossed the rivers’ banks.
They requested from the Federal government of Somalia, Hirshabelle state and the Hiraan administration to take action before the river begins flooding.
A meeting between Hiiran administration and humanitarian aid agencies that was focused on the measures to be taken to ease the effect of flooding was held in Beletweyne yesterday.
